What is the Crossing Borders Project?
The Crossing Borders Project is a collaborative effort in citizen photojournalism with the Israeli and Palestinian NGO's and the local communities to photograph their lives around the wall. The research question is: What is life like around the wall? This is a Peace Photojournalism project in the attempt to resolve conflict through non-violent actions. I conducted a photo-identity workshop where I distributed disposable camera's to three groups: Women at Idyah Refugee Camp in Bethlehem; a youth group at the Tamer Insititute in Ramallah and The Society for Women in Ramallah.
The results were NOT was was expected from this workshop! Now that I finished the thesis (324 pages) my next step is to exhibit the photographs and text that are the results from the project. I have located three places in Israel to exhibit: Bat Shalom in Jerusalem, Bustan in Beer Sheva located in the Negev and Idyah Refugee Camp located in Bethlehem. I am currently looking for a place to exhibit in Tel Aviv and Ramallah.
If you want to know more details about the project please email me with your questions and I will be glad to answer! If you wish to donate please click on my Pay Pal button above to donate.

If you would like to purchase a print of any of my images, many of them are available in a variety of sizes and prices including 11.25 x 7.8 (approx.) for $35.00 and 16” x 10.7 (approx) $60.00 (currency exchange rates here). The former are printed on A4 paper and the latter on A3, both with a small border to aid mounting and framing. All prints are archival quality and can be printed in gloss, semigloss or matte paper and can be shipped worldwide. If you would like a print in a different format or different size to what is mentioned above, please ask and I'll probably arrange it.
Please note: while I try to ensure that a print is identical to its on-screen counterpart an exact match isn't always 100% possible. If I think that an image will be more than marginally different, I will let you know.

For the 11.25 x 7.8 prints is $4.50 in Italy , $7.00 for any destination in Europe and $8.00 for the USA and elsewhere. Please add another $4.00 for the 16”x 10.7” prints. If you wish to use PayPal to pay for your prints a 5% surcharge will be added to the total cost.

People are asking When I came back from covering the war in the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, the question that was asked to me the most was, "What is it really like over there?"
|
Contact me for hire share your story complain ask questions share your links |
Because of that question, I am currently working on a book "The Stories Untold". It will take some time due to my busy schedule, but I intend to tell the stories that were not published in the mainstream media, the behind the scene stories mingled with how it is to live as a female photojournalist in war and the Middle East with all the complications in censorship, politics and cultural differences. In the long run this book will be similar to an Intifada for Dummies book, with documents, maps, copies of speeches and a historical outline for the struggles between the Palestinians and Israelis.
As for Americas involvement on this issue: OneWorld reports that the Institute for Policy Studies (IPS) and Foreign Policy in Focus (FPIF) released a report on the high cost of the Iraqi war for American taxpayers. The figures came to $151.1 billion (I said billion) has been spent on the war. According to the World Bank and the UN that sum could have cut world hunger in half.
